The Yakima County Development Association and Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce announced today that eight emerging businesses are advancing to the final round of the Enterprise Challenge business plan contest. These entrepreneurs were selected by a group of 28 judges that met with and evaluated business plan contestants at the Enterprise Trade Show on February 22nd.
Based on their scores and evaluations, the judges ultimately picked the following eight companies to move forward in our contest:
Bower Home Technologies, LLC – A home automation company pairing the needs of customers with hand- picked technology solutions.
Cypher Land Surveying – Offers professional surveying services throughout the Central Washington region utilizing emerging technologies.
Gigabeam Internet – Provides Internet and TV service in rural areas of the Yakima Valley.
Instar Naturals, LLC – A technology company combining nature and science to increase yield and honeybee activity in pollinated crops worldwide.
Lower Valley Massage and Wellness – Provides effective, natural, and affordable healthcare and other self-care services in Sunnyside.
Natalie DeHaven Cakes – A custom cake studio that creates unique cakes that are amazing works of art and unforgettably delicious!
Pacific Northwest Fresh – Offers year round weekly delivery of local produce and artisan goods.
Professional Perinatal Services, LLC – The only certified in home postpartum care providers in Yakima Valley.
The eight finalists are moving on to a series of advanced workshop on business planning and financials to ready them for submitting their final business plans in early March. They will also be offered an advanced course on “Perfecting the Pitch” to help them prepare for a live presentation to a panel of seven judges. These judges will score the contestants and determine who wins the $17,500 in cash prizes!
The contest winners will be announced at the Enterprise Challenge Awards Banquet on March 29th at YVTech at noon.
