Local Businesses Learn How They Can Increase Their Talent Pipeline Through An Apprentice Program

Over 45 attendees and 11 businesses converged on YV-Tech in Yakima in late August’s Roundtable.

The event featured Employment Security Department’s Commissioner Suzi Levine, Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee’s (AJAC) Bri Durham, and L&I’s WA Apprenticeship’s Rachel McAloon.

The panel provided information on apprenticeships and its future in Yakima and WA State as a pipeline to increasing the work force and filling the skills-gap.

There are free resources and local businesses already hosting an apprentice that can answer questions and provide further information.

Contact Jean Brown at Yakima County Development Association (575-1140) to discover how your business can leverage an apprenticeship program.
