Yakima County Development Association’s Investment Campaign, Choose Yakima Valley, which officially kicked off in July, has been met with an overwhelming positive response from investors throughout Yakima Valley communities.
Over its 30-year history, YCDA has served over 100 businesses annually, created 5,570 new jobs at 150+ businesses, and facilitated $490 million in investments in Yakima County businesses.
As of August 31st, 61 pledges have been received totaling $1,894,000 (63% to $3M goal). These same companies invested $1,088,470 in the previous campaign, a net increase of $798,130 or 74%.
“This funding will be leveraged by YCDA to continue creating new jobs and opportunities to grow our local economy,” said Executive Director Jonathan Smith. “We are grateful for the support of all our investors who have stepped up to the plate, attesting to the critical role YCDA has in facilitating economic prosperity.”
