The Yakima County Development Association’s and Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce’s annual business plan competition, the Enterprise Challenge, is heating up!
After completing extensive courses in business finance, marketing, technology and more, the contestants received individual coaching from community experts. Each then submitted a business pitch to judges who scored each enterprise and determined the top twelve that moved forward in the contest.
Our top twelve contestants are now busy preparing for the contest’s trade show at Yakima Valley Skills Center. The second round of judging is held on Thursday, February 21. Approximately 30 judges meet with our contestants during the afternoon Trade Show to evaluate their ventures and choose our top eight finalists in the contest. Each are ultimately vying for the winner’s circle of $17,500 in cash prizes.
We are excited with the variety of new ventures that are moving forward in the contest. Please meet our 12 Enterprise Trade Show contestants:
Ag Drone Data Services – Provides early detection crop health and monitoring solutions and field analysis services for farms, vineyards and orchards to improve yields.
Creative Ceramics and Art Café – Will offer a walk-in art studio including classes on glazing pottery, fused glass mosaics, and painting while enjoying locally sourced espresso and food.
Freedom Weeder Company LLC – Offers a patented four in one herbicide applicator used for quickly and easily killing weeds without bending over or toting around heavy equipment.
HolBen Honey LLC – Is a local family owned apiary and honey bottling operation, bringing varieties of honey and bees to the Yakima Valley.
Local Beat Eatery – Will be a plant based fast casual restaurant that seeks to serve the community through the power of nutrition.
MAK Daddy Coffee Roasters – Provides Yakima a relaxed venue for customers to enjoy premium coffee that is locally roasted as well as locally sourced food items and premium loose leaf teas.
Round Tuit Kitchen – Produces wonderfully delicious baked goods that minimizes blood sugar and insulin spikes, while being gluten-free, sugar-free, and natural.
Taqueria La Palapa – Serves fresh, authentic, great tasting Mexican street food in a clean, family friendly environment.
Wheel Line Cider – Is a family owned craft cidery dedicated to elevating the growth of heirloom apples, while creating unique experiences like their traditional dry cider.
Willow Pillow LLC – Strives to teach babies to hold their own bottle and offers busy parent hands-free feeding when they need it the most.
Yakima Adventure Quest – Will provide a variety of indoor adventures including go-karts, rope and ninja courses and fun activities that will appeal to all ages.
Yum Bakery – Offers custom baked desserts and sweets, made to order and delivered fresh to you.
