Monica Caoile Hired As New Director Of Investor Relations, Looks Forward To Engaging With Businesses And Communities Throughout Yakima County

Monica will manage YCDA’s fundraising campaign and provide an avenue for consistent communication and feedback from YCDA investors and stakeholders.

“This position is critical to ensuring that we have the resources necessary to fulfill our mission,” said David Cobia, YCDA President of the Board. “Our investors are the backbone of our organization, and we want to ensure that we are meeting their needs as we grow the economy of the Yakima Valley.”

Monica comes to YCDA from the Memorial Foundation where she worked as Community Engagement Coordinator. She headed up the Passion for the Village fundraiser, developing this event to bring awareness to the services provided at Children’s Village.

Monica broke records by raising more money for these programs than had been done in the past.  She held stakeholder meetings for community members to learn more about the programs offered at North Star Lodge and Cottage in the Meadow. She also led the Foundation’s golf tournament in partnership with Children’s Miracle Network to raise money for the NICU unit at Virginia Mason Memorial.

Before the Memorial Foundation, Monica managed a local business for 15 years. She led a staff of 40 employees and learned first-hand the challenges and rewards of running a business.

“Monica’s experience in community fundraising and managing businesses is a perfect fit for strengthening the services provided by YCDA,” explained Jonathan Smith, Executive Director for the YCDA. “She has a strong background in nonprofits and understands what it takes to grow a successful business.”

“I am honored to join the YCDA team and look forward to working with the investors and stakeholders,” said Monica. “With my background in customer relations and customer service, I know we can do some really great things together to grow the prosperity of our community!”

Monica has a Bachelor’s degree from Central Washington University in Public Relations with a Minor in Nonprofit Management. She joins the team in mid-August and will be located in the Yakima County Development Association offices at 10 North 9th Street, Yakima 98901.
